Pamper Yourself with YON-KA Bath & Body Range

Hey Ladies!

So recently I did a YON-KA post all about the skincare. Since truly falling head over heels with the range I decided to explore it further. The more I try of the YON-KA Range, the more I fall in love, hence, the more of it I need. I haven't felt such a strong connection to a brand in a long long time, I'm excited, and I want to share my excitement with you!

First up is the beautiful Phyto-Bain Relaxing Bath Oil. This is perfection in a bottle, Have you ever had one of those days where you just cannot wait to have a bath to unwind, you're on the bus home, or stuck in traffic and start to imagine how amazing this bath will be? Well this relaxing bath oil is the type of thing you pour into the bath during your little bath time fantasy. You only need the smallest amount when using this, pour it in with the hot running water and the scent that hits you is just incredible. It's a very aromatic scent that, as soon as you step into the bath will instantly make you relax. It promotes deep tissue oxygenation, the high concentration of relaxing oils and plant extracts really ensures deep relaxation for the body and mind. It really is something special.

The YON-KA Regenerating Nourishing Body Oil, is a little piece of heaven. After you step out of your bath feeling completely relaxed and pampered, the next step is to reach for the utterly stunning Body Oil. Applying it to slightly damp skin ensures that its triple action works as quickly as possible. It nourishes, silkens and firms the skin, it also replenishes moisture to dry dehydrated skin beautifully. The entire range is so indulgent and really makes you feel like you're pampering yourself, in my opinion its even better than having it done by a spa or treatment rooms because you are doing it at your own pace.

The more I think about these styles of 'At Home Pampering/Treatments' the more sense they make. I mean, if you purchase your own products, you have the option of giving yourself a little treatment evening whenever the feeling takes you. No appointments to make, when you're done, you can hop straight in your PJ's or bed for a great nights sleep. I am really enjoying the luxury of having the freedom to use what the YON-KA range has to offer, and that is at home, indulgent pampering, with the most beautiful aromatic products I have ever used. Honestly I just cannot rave about these enough.

Now ladies, you know me, and you know its not often I will tell you need something in your life,  but I am telling you with my hand on my heart that you need to experience the YON-KA range in some form, be it skincare or body care. You will not regret it, and in stressful times or when you just need to relax I can promise you, that you will be delighted that you have these aromatic wonders to rely on!

That's it for now ladies,
I hope you enjoyed!

Vichy Dermablend - Worth the Hype!

Hey Ladies,

I hope you are all well! Vichy is a brand I have always had a great relationship with skincare wise, but I had never ventured into what they had to offer makeup wise. Vichy Dermablend is something I have heard a lot about, the more reviews I read, the more it peaked my curiosity. Every girl loves a full coverage foundation, and Vichy Dermablend promised to meet all my full coverage needs!

First up is the foundation itself, its really achieved cult status among the beauty community and after finally trying it myself I can see why. I purchased the lightest shade 'Opal' and it's the perfect match for me. First impressions of the foundation was that it had a very thick consistency, and when I began to apply it I realised that a little of the product goes a long way! This is a corrective foundation, but it also claims to give 24 hour hydration, which is something that really excited me, due to the fact that my skin is dry/dehydrated. I found on application that it really covers a multitude and glides across the skin effortlessly. I have also found that there is no need for concealer. What you end up with is a full coverage look, with your face looking like it's caked in makeup, a look lets face it, we all try to avoid! The wear time on this is fantastic, with or without powdering. I would say though if you have oily skin, do go ahead with your powder step! I got all day wear out of this, from about 8.30 am, to 8pm ish. Really incredible and I didn't feel like I wanted to tear my skin off toward the end, which can be an issue with certain foundations toward the end of the day!

The Vichy Dermablend Powder, translucent and virtually transparent, I was hoping that this would be my new holy grail powder. It gives the skin a very natural, velvety finish that is light weight and fragrance free. With dry skin I don't normally need powder, but if its going to be a busy day, I like that little bit of reassurance that my makeup is going to stay in place. Another thing I really like about this powder is the fact that its water and sweat resistant which is perfect for our 'one extreme to the other' weather.I find that this really does everything it says its going to do, and doesn't cling to or accentuate any dry patches that may be lurking! It's become part of my daily routine and I would have no hesitation in repurchasing it.

Below is a picture just to give you an idea of how it looks coverage wise. My skin is currently going through a purge from my Clarisonic and it is quite bad so you have an idea of how much the foundation covers!

That's it for now ladies,
I hope you enjoyed!
Have you tried Vichy Dermablend?
Are you tempted?

YvesSaintLaurent Mascara - The Holy Trinity

Hey Ladies,

I hope you are all well. As some of you may know, I have quite the obsession with YSL. I'm not sure if it's the beautiful collections, or the allure of the shiny gold packaging, but it's love. I purchased my first YSL mascara about 18 months ago, and instantly it stole my heart. It has become a not so subtle addiction. Today I thought I would share with you my 3 favourite mascaras, my holy trinity, that in my opinion, every girl should own at least one of...

So the three beauties I have chosen are the Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils, the Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Babydoll, and the Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Shocking. All three of these mascara's are absolute perfection for different reasons. There is just something about the YSL mascaras that make my heart skip a beat. Everything about these scream pure luxury, the packaging, the scent and the look they give to frame the eyes.

The first of the three is the Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils. This I purchased in a set with a lovely YSL eyemakeup remover. First up the pigmentation of this mascara is fantastic, it's deep, dark, rich black coats every single lash perfectly. The clump free formula insures that coat after coat, your lashes stay soft and light to the touch and don't feel at all spindly or weighed down. It has exceptional wear time, doesn't flake and really gives you that much lusted after false lash effect that we all crave! You really cant go wrong with this!

Next up is the newest addition to the YSL mascara family, 'Babydoll'. I am in love with this mascara, I'm getting excited even typing about it. It differs from the other two with one major difference and that is the wand. The wand spreads the lashes incredibly wide, it redefines the lashes one by one from the tiniest lashes to your best ones this just perfects them. it volumises and lengthens all in one, I honestly think that this has become top of my list of favourites, it's just stunning! Wear time of this is fantastic, no clumping or flakes. It's a definite winner in my eyes.

Last but not least is YSL's Shocking. This is a cult favourite in the beauty community. One rumour I wanted to put to rest is that this particular mascara dries out rather quickly. Not at all, a common mistake that people make is not ensuring that tube is properly closed after use. Once you make sure its closed properly you will get many months of life out of this tube of joy. The mascara itself is what I like to call a 'POW' mascara. Once you have a few coats of this mascara on, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. The lashes become so voluminous it can be hard to believe that they are your own. It really is just a high impact mascara. If you purchase this I can promise you will not be disappointed, it really is one of the best mascara's on the market for beauty addicts at the moment!

On top is the Babydoll mascara, bottom left is Shocking and right is the Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils

.
That's it for now ladies,
I hope you enjoyed!
Have you tried any YSL mascaras?
What are your favourites?
Are you tempted to try any of the above?

Skincare Indulgence with YON-KA

Hello Ladies,

I hope you are all well, I have been more than a little obsessed with the brand I'll be talking to you about today. Ever since I purchased my Clarisonic, my enjoyment and love of skincare (yes, you read that right) has gone through the roof. Now that I have a better surface to work with, my skin seem to be loving my skincare products, and not only that but I'm feeling the benefits of these particular products on a level that I never have before, and I'm not going to lie, I'm excited. The brand in question? YON-KA.

I'm big on first impressions, and when I opened the box that these arrived in, the first thing I was greeted with was the most beautiful, aromatic scent, the packaging and fragrance literally had me at hello. YON-KA is brand that I have always had my eye on, it's just so luxurious and really, who wouldn't want to pamper themselves with these amazing products? The first of the two kits I was sent was the 'Hydration Kit', the second was the 'Vitality Kit'. The fantastic thing about these kits is that they are 21 Day Trial Kits, but they're also perfect for travelling. Now it says 21 days but I've been using these about a month and I have barely made a dent in them.

The Hydration Kit comes with a 75ml Cleansing lotion for the face and eyes, a 50ml Invigorating Toner, and a 15ml Creme 28 Hydrating moisturiser. The cleanser smells amazing, its a very thick lotion, and you only need about a euro size to cover your entire face and neck. It's beautiful, now I use this with my Clarisonic, and it does the job perfectly, it leaves my face feeling clean, soft and subtle. As I said above I have had this for about a month and with daily use I still have about three quarters of the bottle left. Amazing! The star of both kits for me has to be the Invigorating Toner Mist. If you have ever been for a luxury facial, where you come out feeling relaxed and pampered from the aromatherapy oils used, this is like that, in a spray. I have never had a toner that I just adore using. This smells sensational, the blend of oils and the general scent of it would sent you into a blissful sleep, its just.... to die for. The Creme 28 Hydrating Moisturiser is really lovely, it's luxurious and creamy and as with the others, you really feel like you're pampering your skin. The entire range really is just pure indulgence.

The Vitality Kit is perfect for normal to oily skin. I did give these a good try during our brief spell of good weather as whenever it is unnaturally hot here in Ireland, my normally dry/dehydrated skin seems to turn oily in my t-zone. The difference in the Cleanser in this kit aside from the fact that its targeted at oily skin is the fact that instead of being a cream cleanser its gel. Now, I have heard mixed reports about gel cleansers, that even with oily skin, they can dry out the area. I didn't find that with the cleansing gel, it controlled the oil without drying out my already dehydrated skin. Like all the other YON-KA products it smells fantastic. The toner as I mentioned before, smells absolutely incredible, one thing I love doing is spraying a few pumps of this into clean hands and taking a few deep breaths and then patting this all over my face. It's so good! YON-KA  need to make a candle of this scent, when you smell it, I know you'll agree! The moisturiser that accompanies this kit is the Vital Defence which is an antioxidant cream, which is just as nice as the Creme 28, but I just find that Creme 28 is more suited to my skin needs. I will keep this for travel, and weekends away, I think it will be perfect for that.

Last but by no means least is the incredible Quintessence Aromatic Candle, now I am a candle freak. I just adore them, I buy at least a candle a week and this has been a firm favourite of mine for the past month, the scent is hard to pin down. Now I have perused a few websites trying to find scent descriptions to give you a better idea of what it smells like, and a lot say its like spraying the toner, but I don't think so. When you first open it, a scent very similar to Arnica hits you, but when it's lit, the scent changes completely. There is a definite scent of lavender, geranium, rosemary and thyme. It's packed full of essential oils, and it has a great scent throw which is something I look for in a candle. The combination of essential oils make it a truly beautiful, invigorating scent, perfect for any room in your house, although I tend to favour it in my bedroom, as a little bit of a luxury treat!

So that's it for now ladies,
I hope you enjoyed!

Clarisonic Mia 2 - First Impressions

Hey Ladies

I hope you are all well, I'm excited to share this first weeks review of the Clarisonic Mia 2! I know normally, you could never really give a full review of a product designed for your skin after one week, but honestly, I have been so impressed by this that I thought I would share with you my first impressions and give you the low down on my experience with this, the holy grail of skincare tools for women around the world.

I first thought about purchasing the Clarisonic about 4 years ago, but never went through with it, there was always something that put me off. I think the main reason was because I was never really that bothered about my skincare routine, and this, should I have chosen to buy it was a serious investment. And thats the thing about it, it IS an investment, if I had known then what I know now about skincare I would have had no hesitations. So a little over a week and a half ago, I decided to take the plunge and invest in this. It was always something I came back to looking at. I did my research, about two years worth, I watched YouTube reviews, I read blogposts, I spoke to some friends who had it, and thought this could be what I need to give my skin the boost it needs. If you are a regular reader, you will know the trouble I have had battling my dry skin. I was doing everything right on my part, I was drinking a tonne of water, using the best skincare and makeup but, things just were not working for me, or they would work and then suddenly stop, spending so much money on skincare, and then having it not work can be so upsetting, your makeup doesnt sit right and it can really knock your confidence. This was a last resort on my part, when really, it should have been my first.

The Clarisonic claims to cleanse 6 times better than using your hands alone, this includes any sort of microfibre or muslin cloths, the brush head ascillating over 300 times per second with its micro massage method works with the skin instead of against it, the sonic action removes impurities from the pores and gets rid of all the bad to let the good in. So what have I experienced in the past week? Well, ideally you use the Mia 2 for 1 minute, first apply the cleanser of your choice, wet the brush head, you press the on button and choose your speed, then use it in gentle circular motions for 20 seconds on the forehead, 20 on the nose and chin and ten on each cheek. It's not irratating in the slightest! In fact some days I will do it for 2 minutes, paying particular attention to my problem areas which are between my brows, around my nose, and my chin. after the first use my skin was incredibly soft, all my skincare sank in beautifully and my face just generally felt amazing. After two day of use, all that dry skin in the above mentioned areas? It was gone, I couldnt believe it, I almost cried! It was the most amazing thing, after almost a year of facials and expensive skincare, it was gone.

Another thing I wanted to mention was, that if you happen to be wearing makeup, you must remove it before using the Mia 2, I normally use a Micellaire water to remove my makeup before I apply an actual cleanser for use with this, and just let me tell you... You think your face is clean after removing your makeup? Its not. You would be equally surprised and kind of digusted to see how much remains in your skin after you've removed your makeup. So it just goes to show you, your skincare cant really do its job if it cant get passed that last layer of makeup. My cleansers of choice for use with the Mia are SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser and Bia Beauty's Orange & Grapefruit Facial Exfoliant and Cleanser. I generally use my SkinCeuticals 5 times per week, and then Bia Beauty's exfoliating cleanser maybe twice, just to give it that extra clean. The beauty of the Clarisonic Mia is that you can use whatever cleanser you want, it's fantastic. Everything sinks in so much better and you really feel you're getting the full benefit out of your skin care. In one week the difference in my own skin has been nothing short of remarkable. Some people, I have read, tend to go through a purge stage where they experience breakouts but fortunately, that has not been an issue for me, yet! I will keep you updated on that though!

So my final thoughts on the Mia 2? Well after one week I can say that it was totally worth the money, I have no regrets. It's not a chore to use, it's kind of fun. When you look at the good it's doing for your skin, really it's no contest. It's just incredible. I will keep you updated on my Clarisonic journey as it continues!

That's it for now ladies,
I hope you enjoyed,

Top 6 Summer Scents

Hey Ladies,

As some of you may know from my last post, my blog turned 1 just over a week ago. The first thing I posted on almost a year ago was 'My Top 6 Spring Fragrances'. I thought it might be nice to do something similar this year, with Summer scents. With today being the first official day of Summer I thought it only right to do a little post in honour of the gorgeous weather to come (I hear our Summer is on a Thursday this year) and we all love a good scent for the Summer months don't we?! Everyone knows I am a fragrance nut. There's no denying that, I think my collection has passed the 60 bottles mark (don't judge me). So, this year I have chosen 6 different scents, which I think are perfect for Summer.

Lancome - Miracle

It's really hard to believe this scent is 13 years old... Miracle was a fragrance that someone gave to me as a gift for my 21st birthday, I fell in love with it immediately. There's something so perfect about the way this lingers on the skin. It's breezy and refreshing, although it contains base notes of Jasmine, musk, and amber it's what I like to call spicy floral. It's one you really cant go to far wrong with for Summer!

Valentino - Rock n' Rose

Rock n' Rose was not something I thought would be for me. I'm not a massive rose fan, especially if it that synthetic rose scent or if its overpowering, but this is a beautiful scent, it's a very chic, feminine scent. Its almost like a powdered rose scent, mixed with soft wood and amber, when the scent dries down, you can almost get a faint vanilla smell, it's really lovely. I would wear this as more of an evening scent, mainly because the wear time on this isn't incredible so it's probably best worn when you only need a few hours wear.

Dior - Miss Dior

I absolutely adore this scent, it was a Christmas gift from my father. It is perfect for any time of year but I think especially so for Summer, Ms Dior is a very floral fragrance but it has a woodsy dept to it. It can be quite strong on first spritz but honestly once it dries down what you're left with is the most beautiful scent of floral, woodsy, amber amzingness. I just love this.

Thierry Muglar - Alien Sunessence Or d'Ambre

Alien is definitely a scent that people either love or hate, but either way it's a scent that is very easy to recognise. The distinctive scent of Alien is strong in the Sunessence Or d'Ambre, you would know it is part of the Alien family. The difference of this scent though, is that it is fresher, not as heavy and has a more amber present in the fragrance, it's stunning.

Roger & Gallet - The Vert

This is described a lot as a masculine scent... I don't get why. This scent is breezy and fresh. you can absolutely get the aroma of tea, but there is also a strong scent of lime, lemon and mandarin. I can see this working well on a really hot summers day (not that we're blessed with too many of them in Ireland!) it's not cloying or over powering just beautifully zingy and fresh! I definitely recommend this for Summer!

Lancome - La Vie est Belle

La Vie est Belle, oh how I adore you. This is my third bottle of this in less than a year. I ADORE this scent. It's perfect for all year round wear but, especially for Summer. This is one of those scents that pulls you in, it's stunning, praline, jasmin and patchouli stand out the most, it's intoxicating, the staying power is incredible and I cannot say enough about this scent to explain how much I love it, but you can read a full review here.

That's it for now ladies!
I hope you enjoyed,
let me know what fragrances you will wearing this Summer!
Have any of my picks caught your eye?!

CocoaBrown Night & Day

Hey Ladies,

I hope you're all well, I'm so excited to share a first look at Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter's newest epic offering of tan Night & Day Tan Mousse. I am a huge Cocoa Brown fan, so when I found out there was a new product in the pipeline I was more excited than I have ever been about a self tanning product. I was never a big tan person... Until I met Cocoa Brown, it changed everything for me. So, it has finally arrived, the newest addition to the Cocoa Brown family and the new love of my life 'Night & Day'. Let's have a look, shall we?

Here she is... and isn't she a beauty?! First up lets talk about the packaging. Incredible. One of the things I loved about the original CB was the colour, how it looked so feminine and pretty, basically something you would be proud to show off on your dressing table. The new packaging as you can see, is just as pretty. Half pink, half white to indicate this is your night and day tan. 'Dark by night, light by day'. Marissa's beautiful 'Cocoa Brown' logo still sitting pretty on the bottle only this time it reflects the half and half effect for the night and day, which I love. Just like its big sister, CB Night & Day is something any girl would be proud to have on show on her vanity table, mine would be there, except my mother has run off with it and is applying it as I type, shouting things like 'Oh it's loooooovely isn't it?!'.

Ok, so what's the difference between 'Night & Day' and the original Cocoa Brown tan, I hear you ask? Well, Marissa explained that there were some ladies who wanted a dark tan straight away, and didn't really want to wait the three hours for development time. They were looking for straight up dark after application and you can just pop your clothes on and run out the door. So, that's what this is, the beauty of this tan is that after your night out, when you step into the shower the next morning, you're not left with a streaky mess, you're not all patchy, what you are left with is a beautiful subtle glow to hide the sins of the night before that  usually include grey, tired looking skin. Cocoa Brown 'Night & Day' saves you the trouble of lets face it, probably not looking your finest the morning after... we're all friends here, we can talk about it! I applied it last night... there were cocktails involved (FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES) although I didn't realise the research would become part of it until the cocktails were consumed. I was astounded by the colour. I found it, beautiful. No, really. You know the people with just gorgeous sallow skin, who us pale girls secretly hate?! Like that, just gorgeous, full, radiant looking skin... I didn't want to take my shower this morning! But, alas, no one likes smelly girls. The tan didn't fade fully after the shower, I was left with an even, beautiful sun kissed glow.

I was very brave and even decided to add a small amount to my face. It wasn't the nightmare I had expected, in fact; I freakin love it! I will have pictures below, but honestly, I just want to straight up gush about the general fantasticness of Marissa and her Cocoa Brown. Seriously, you're looking at a girl who 6 months ago couldn't stand false tan. I hated everything about it, the effort, the smell, the aftermath of application like stained clothes, smelly biscuit/curry clothes. I really just didn't like tan. Marissa has created something truly beautiful here, something I love, something I look forward to applying, and believe it or not, something I love sharing with people. Friends, family, neighbours, strangers in chemists, my daughters teacher... I cant share the word or the love for this product enough. What really speaks volumes is that people who come back to me, say they've told their friends, and someone told me a bride did her own tan for her wedding day because she loved Cocoa Brown so much. How amazing is that?! Some day, not to far from here Cocoa Brown will become a global brand. I have no doubt of that. The following it has gained in such a short period of time,is amazing, the world is missing out!

I cant say enough good things about the new addition to the Cocoa Brown family, it's a beautiful product, Marissa has created an amazing range with Cocoa Brown, I'm so happy for her and can only wish her all the love and success she truly deserves with the new 'Night & Day' tan. It's fantastic and I really recommend you go get your hands on it once it becomes available. It wont disappoint, I promise!

So, that's it for now ladies,
I hope you enjoyed!
What are your thoughts?!
Are you excited for the new Night & Day?

NIMA Brush - Rose Gold Collection

Hey ladies,

I hope you are all well, I'm so excited to share this post with you! Back in December at our Irish Blogger Meet up we had the privilege of meeting Niamh Martin from Nima Brush. After a great demo during which Niamh gave a mini makeover to one of my fellow bloggers Sarah, she let slip that there would be a collection of her brushes released in Rose Gold. That was it, it was all over for me. I am a rose gold JUNKIE. Watches, bracelets, rings, necklaces, you name it I have it. Rose gold brushes?! What girl could resist? I went ahead with the entire Elite Collection knowing full well if I only got one or two sets I'd regret it. The two sets I'm going to show you today are the 'Elite 3 piece kabuki' and the 'Elite 3 piece duo fibre'. Lets have a little look shall we?

This is the 3 piece Kabuki set, she's a beauty isn't she?! First and foremost let me say I cannot find fault with these brushes, they are absolutely stunning. This set includes a flat top kabuki which is perfect for applyling foundation, it buffs the foundation into the skin beautifully. The domed powder brush is perfect for applying powder or blush, I myself prefer it for blush as I'm not a massive powder wearer. It picks up just the right amount of colour and disperses it perfectly over the cheeks. I've also used this for my cream blushes which I generally tend to ignore because I could never find 'the perfect brush' this handles the task brilliantly. I'm reaching for my NARS Penny Lane a lot more now after months of neglect. It's helped me fall in love with my cream products all over again. Last but by no means least we have the angled powder brush. I use this mainly to apply my bronzer as it fits perfectly into the hollows of my cheeks, it blends the contour out and softens the edges in a way that I've never experienced with any other brush,

Elite Collection Flat Top Kabuki
Elite Collection Angled Kabuki

Elite Collection Domed Powder Kabuki

All the brushes in this set are made from taklon, which make them not only easy to work with but easy to clean, if you wanted me to compare them to something to give you an idea, think Real Techniques, but better. Much better. These brushes are stylish and well made. With the proper care they're guaranteed to give you a lifetime of fun and enjoyment. The rose gold ferrules are just beautiful and are a real eye catcher. But we're not done yet...

This is the large Duo Fibre from the Elite Collection. Now I know you're probably thinking that this looks similar to the MAC 187 right? Well looks, is where the similarity ends. This brush is so soft and so vastly dense that it totally surpasses my MAC 187. This brush I use for my foundation of powder. It does a wonderful job when I feel I need a light dusting of powder, or when I want to have a more natural look with my foundation.

The medium Duo Fibre is equally as impressive, I mainly use this as either a contour brush or for cream cheek products, it's the perfect size for either. The brush itself is just as dense and soft as it's older sister above and it's just a pleasure to use.

The small Duo Fibre brush is perfect for hitting all those hard to reach places. My preference for this brush definitely has to be concealer or highlighter. This makes both tasks easy. There's no obstacles to overcome with these brushes, they're perfect and make any job that needs doing, easy to accomplish.

So, my final thoughts on these first two sets of brushes? It's love. Complete, feel like I've just been knocked over by a truck, love. I cant say one negative thing about them. they are beautiful, practical, and affordable. What girl wouldn't want to add these to their collection? They are incredible. Niamh did an amazing job and really I think the rose gold is just the icing on the cake. Now a little info on the prices!

12 piece professional set inc Cylinder - €105
3 piece Duo Fibre - €35
3 piece Kabuki - €35
5 piece Eye Detail - €25

Urban Decay Naked BB Cream

Hey Ladies,

I hope you are all well. I am so sorry for the lack of posts recently. I have pneumonia and am only now starting to feel a bit more human. Todays post is something I dont tend to do too often. A bad review, I tend to subscribe to the school of thought that if you have nothing nice to say, dont say anything... Hold your tounge, but I cant with this. The Urban Decay - Naked Skin Beauty Balm.

So, those of you who know me, will know my absolute adoration for all things Urban Decay, love the brand, love the products, I have never purchased anything that I regret... Until now. I am pretty new to the world of BB creams, but I have educated myself enough via fellow bloggers and the blogsphere in general.to know a dud when I lay my hands on one. After a few good experiences with various BB creams I was really excited to see what Urban Decay had to offer. So I took the plunge and bought their version of a BB cream 'Naked Skin'. I had high hopes, UD is a brand that rarely let me down. So, when I applied it for the first time, my heart sank with the results.

Where did it all go wrong I hear you ask? Well, the first thing I was met with was a very orange tinted liquid. I said I would perservere with it and that maybe it might adjust to my skin tone or something, once i applied it to my skin it just sheered away and left nothing but an orange sheen on my skin. It didnt offer any coverage what so ever, it didnt even my skintone out, or reduce the size of pores like it claimed it would. The only thing I was left with was a sheer 'You've been tango-ed' orange glowy/film over my skin. Not good.

Urban Decay - Oz Palettes

Hey ladies,

I hope you're all well. I have decided to share a little secret with you, I've become addicted to the two palettes I am about to show you, a day hasn't gone by the past few weeks where I haven't reached for these. The Urban Decay 'Oz the Great and Powerful' palettes in Theodora and Glinda have completely blown all my other eye shadows be it single or palettes, out of the water. I am just in love with these!

Let's start with Theodora. I was more than a little biased when it came to choosing a favourite, the main reason for choosing Theodora was because Mila Kunis plays the role of the witch. Now, I know I'm not alone in saying I have a total crush on Mila, and knowing that this palette was designed around her look just made me love it all the more!

The palette contains 4 full sized shades and 2 full sized split shades. Broken - a pale cream. Beware - matte warm brown. Bewitched - a charcoal brown. West - a deep metallic brown with shimmer. Spell - black with green and gold shimmer and gold metallic. Jealous - dark forest green and a paler green pearl. It also includes a 24/7 liner in Zero. The formulation of this palette is what you would come to expect from Urban Decay. Pure perfection. The shades are creamy, fantastically pigmented and as always highly blendable. The colours included are extremely versatile, there are so many looks you can achieve with this palette, I just love it. The shades have great longevity, day to night using my primer potion, but I have also road tested these shadows without the primer and I find they last about 8 hours before they start to fade.

Theodora Palette - Urban Decay

Next up is Glinda the good! The Glinda palette is beautiful, the colours are just so pretty and feminine. The part of Glinda is played by Michelle Williams in the movie. This palette represents the beauty and femininity of Glinda, any fans of the new or original Oz will love this collection of shades. I think as kids we all liked to pretend we were the good witch of the south (my brother was always the flying monkey).

Like the Theodora palette, Glinda contains 4 full sized shadows with 2 full sized split shades. Tornado - a highly pigmented deep purple shimmer. Aura - an iridescent white with a gold shimmer and an iridescent white with blue shimmer. Magic - an almost pastel pink with golden shimmer. Illusion - a pale peach satin. Oz - a dirty gold with silver shimmer and a blue toned silver with silver glitter. South - a pale taupey silver with micro glitter. The palette also comes with 24/7 liner in Rockstar. Again the pigmentation and blendability of the shadow is just second to none. Urban Decay have always been my go to shadow of choice for the simple reason that no matter if its a single shadow or a palette the texture, pigmentation, transfer to the eye and wear time of the shadows just cannot be beaten.

Glinda Palette - Urban Decay

The palettes also come with an Urban Decay Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Colour, one for each palette 'Glinda' a gorgeous nude and 'Theodora' a stunning deep red cream. Both of these are a pleasure to use, they're moisturising on the lips and application is flawless.

So, my final thoughts on the Oz Palettes from Urban Decay? I adore them. I really do. I think if you're still in two minds about them you need to go to your nearest counter and swatch these. I can promise you, you'll have an overwhelming urge to pick up one if not both of these. They are perfect in every way. I have gotten so much use out of these, and I will continue to use these... somehow, I cant see these little palettes losing their magic for me, maybe they might cast a little spell on you too? (see what I did there?! No? I'll get me coat...).

That's it for now ladies,
I hope you enjoyed!

Clarins Favourites!

Hey Ladies,

I hope you're all well. Over the past few days, during my daily routine of getting ready I had a 'moment' where I realised that two particular products have become staples in my routine without me even noticing! Now you all know about my love for Clarins, but these two little items have become things I cannot live without. I bought them on a whim and never used them for a while, and then like most beauty addicts you discover things you forgot you had and bam! you're in love...

One thing that tends to draw me to Clarins products is the scent. I always thought if I could find a fragrance that smelled like Clarins products I would be all over it. I discovered Eau Dynamisante by accident, while purchasing my toner at the Clarins counter they had the scents on display and I ACCIDENTALLY knocked one over. Out of sheer mortification I purchased 'the one in the red bottle' without even smelling it. After I had ran out of the shop to die of embarrassment in comfort, I went home to have a little sniff and that was it, the scent of Clarins in a perfume, I was hooked! The fragrance itself is fresh and invigorating, and just smells like clean! I have a habit of spraying this on me after my night time shower, it's just beautiful. This is a perfect scent for Spring/Summer. If you have never tried this scent I highly recommend you have a spritz!

The Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment was something I had wanted for quite a while. I had read very mixed reviews on this from a few fellow bloggers, but I have to say, I really like it. I got this for half price with a voucher full price is €19 and honestly when this runs out I will have no issue with repurchasing at full price. It smells fantastic and I find it does moisturise my hands very well. It's non greasy and sinks into the hands beautifully. I like it so much I find myself reaching for this four or five times a day and a little tip is, it is perfect to use after exfoliating your hands. Like a mini spa treatment its a real treat!

That's it for now ladies,
Just a little insight into 2 Clarins products I have been really enjoying!
Have you tried either of these?
These may be good gift ideas for Mothers Day!
What are you loving at the moment?!
As always, let me knew below.
Until next time
